Arbitrary Waveform Generator (via Qpute.com)

The HDAWG arbitrary waveform generator from Zurich Instruments is an AWG that uses real-time precompensation technology. It allows precompensation to minimize effects of imperfections in the wiring and guarantees that the signal applied to the device under test equals the signal designed on the HDAWG. The real-time precompensation considers the history of the signal overs long time scales without consuming waveform memory and is also compatible with dynamic sequencing.

Available with 4-channel and 8-channel

It offers several filter types to correct for AC coupling, spurious inductances and capacitances, impedance mismatches or amplifier ringing. Each channel of this AWG comes with a chain of digital filters between the waveform generation unit and the digital-to-analog converter, and each filter can be set up and configured in situ while monitoring the effect on the signal at the device under test.

Suitable for applications such as quantum computing, EPR or NMR

In order to find the right filter parameters, the LabOne Precompensation Simulator enables the user to match the measured signal with the simulated effect of the inverse filter. Thus, the user can work with the visualized waveform data from the LabOne AWG Sequencer. The HDAWG fits applications such as quantum computing application with flux bias pulses for superconducting qubits or gate voltage pulses for spin qubits, electron paramagnetic resonance or nuclear magnetic resonance.
