It’s one of the UK’s most secret organisations.

For almost 100 years GCHQ’s job has been to keep us safe – and it’s best known for breaking Germany’s Enigma code during World War II.

Its main base is in the ‘doughnut’ in Cheltenham where it says staff work to ‘keep forces safe, prevent terrorism and crime, and protect against cyber attack’.

The organisation is so secretive you may not have realised it has bases outside the south of England – including at Menwith Hill, known to many as the golf balls due to the striking appearance of its satellites.

And there are several jobs going at the base suitable people with a background in IT, science or technical.

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria must go through a ‘telephone expectation chat’, a technical challenge, a face to face interview and a drugs test.
