Lane Kiffin returning to coach in the SEC
Lane Kiffin’s three-year run at Florida Atlantic is coming to an end, as multiple media outlets are reporting that the former Tennessee head coach and Alabama assistant has a return to the the SEC all but finalized.
Sounds like Lane Kiffin’s son “Knox” is excited to be heading to Oxford. Kiffin led Tennessee to a 7-6 record that year, including an appearance in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
Kiffin is in his third season at Florida Atlantic and has coached them to the Conference USA Championship Game twice. Ole Miss fired coach Matt Luke on Sunday. He then replaced Pete Carroll at USC, and was sacked after a 28-15 record. The Rebels reportedly beat out fellow SEC West school Arkansas for Kiffin’s services.
Kiffin served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for three seasons (one of which ended in a national championship) before taking the FAU job ahead of the 2017 season.
