Funding call of 26 April 2021 based on the funding framework “Development of Digital Technologies”

The following call for proposals is subject to the final release of funds.

Deadline for submission: June 30, 2021 12:00 a.m.

The German government has set itself the goal of promoting the application of quantum technologies and, in particular, quantum computing (QC). To this purpose, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Federal Ministry of the Interior, for Construction and Home Affairs (BMI) and the Federal Ministry of Defense (BMVg) have drawn up a holistic strategy for the development of quantum technologies: The framework program “Quantum Technologies – from Fundamentals to Market”.

The present proposal call for the quantum computing funding program is intended to address the following topics primarily:

• Providing access to such systems for users
• Creation of QC software for problem solving
• Creation of solutions for hybrid systems

Funding is provided for research, development and innovation projects that prove and demonstrate the technical feasibility, viability and usefulness of QC by relevant, practical use cases.
