Powerful vocals, songs we’ve all sung along to and a whole lot of cheer – that’s what ‘Disney Princess – The Concert’ promises to bring on October 11. The 25-minute show, taking place at the Rocket Garden in the USA Pavilion, has a cast that includes Broadway and animated film veterans.
Numbers you can look forward to singing along to include ‘Let it Go’ (Frozen), ‘When Will my Life Begin’ (Tangled), ‘A Whole New World’ (Aladdin), ‘Almost There” (Princess and the Frog), ‘Best of Belle Medley’ (Beauty and the Beast), ‘When you Wish Upon a Star’ (Pinocchio), and ‘Starting Now’.
The production – which includes performers Drama Desk-nominee Christy Altomare, Tony-nominee Susan Egan, Grammy-nominee Courtney Reed and Broadway World Award-winner Syndee Winters – will play out at 2pm, 4pm and 8pm.
So much more than one show
When you head to the USA Pavilion, there’s much more to do than listen to music. Check out ‘The Sky is No Longer the Limit’ immersive media segment that showcases the tech advances America has made and the ideas that it’s working towards, from the democratisation of space to quantum computing.
Stay for the evening and you can see the 43 metre-tall SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket replica ‘blast off’ in a 60-second show. Then there’s the projection mapping tech that turns the rocket into a large canvas and tells the story of America’s tryst with space.
Speaking of out-of-the-world showcases, the 3,300-square-metre pavilion is also home to a moving walkway that takes visitors through a “24-minute experience” of America with moon rocks, a Mars rover and Thomas Jefferson’s Quran. A true adventure for the family.
